Before I purchased this book, I read some of the reviews and knew it had an abortion theme. It wasn't what I expected, but I loved it! It was a beautiful story. It completely surprised me. I haven't stayed up too late reading a book in a long time, but this one had me hooked. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author!

Nicole Seitz has done it again. Saving Cicadas is a beautiful story with truly wonderful and unforgettable characters who jump out of the pages and into the readers' hearts. This is a family read for all to enjoy. One of my favorite comtemporary writers.
The reader will treasure this book.

Saving Cicadas slowly opens a window for the reader to peer into the intricate and fragile anatomy of the human spirit. The story paints an accurate picture of a wounded heart....enabling the reader to identify with the characters in our own emotionally gimpy places. Along for the ride, we're able to feel the complexities in choices and relationships that can bring a heart to breaking. Nicole Seitz's depiction of the intricate twists and turns in the process of restoration is both compassionate and honest. Her storytelling delicately navigates the reader through the tricky business of healing happening. It's much like a dance, and if you let the story do the leading, and don't over-think or struggle to resist, may find yourself swept along in the current, your own heart tweaked in the process. I found fresh air pouring through the window and the journey well worth taking.

Great book and the fact that there were actually a couple of surprises to the plot twists.
I bought this book because a friend said it was her favorite book. I found it a little boring.
Nicole called my book club and she talked to us about why she wrote this book.....yes there are some controversial elements to the story, but she tells a story that will touch every woman a certain way.....whether it is someone we might know or something a woman might have gone through herself. It really makes you think once you understand the voice that needs to be heard....characters are interesting......the ending is so different and unpredictable......you will want to go back and re-read. Read it with an open mind. Let the fiction take you somewhere you have never been before...
