I am putting the majority of my misery on myself as swore I was going to stop reading this series after the fourth book...but apparently I am a glutton for punishment. I hate the thought of leaving a story...no matter how badly written...unfinished. I just DO NOT like the author's writing style...his "participation award" views are too hard to stomach and this book was literally made up of 95% of a group a hundred or so people trying to get along and doing absolutely nothing. Not wanting to spoil anything for anyone...but the ONLY action of ANY kind happened in the last 5% of the book. I am not even exaggerating...I looked at the bottom of my kindle. What kind of author writes 160 pages with absolutely nothing exciting in it. I don't write a lot of reviews of books because they are generally good...but this guy is NOT...his characters are either unlikable or useless and the things he writes are just nonsensical. You can tell he does absolutely no research when writing his books...one based on the writing itself...and two...based on the fact that he already has the next book out...so he wrote and put out the next book in the time it took me to read this one. Either that or he broke one book into two in order to force people to buy more books...not sure which one of those would make me angrier. But...as I said I don't review a lot of books and I think I've reviewed this series three times now...and this is an all time low. While I have never liked the characters or the author's style or effort...I keep coming back to the fact that you wrote an entire book where nothing...NOTHING...happened. It just went on and on about them building up the stupid wall...are freaking kidding me!!! But as I said before I blame myself...I WISH I'D NEVER COME ACROSS THIS SERIES...I WOULDN'T HAVE WASTED MY $$$ ON IT BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I WOULDN'T HAVE WASTED HOURS OF MY LIFE ON IT.Product details

Restoring Law An EMP Survival Story EMP Crash Book 6 eBook Kip Nelson Reviews
I was wondering how you were going to make this suspenseful again after all the happy going on. Good job.
Restoring Law is the sixth post apocalyptic book in the EMP Crash Survival Story series written by author Kip Nelson.
Okay, I'm not really sure why I read this installment, but disappointed I was. It's clear the author is a progressive/socialist/liberal and subtly brings his politics to the story.
Case in point...in this ultra violent world he proffers the notion that all the settlement inhabitants store their firearms in a community armory. This AFTER a series of violent attacks where the perimeter of New Haven was penetrated with a great loss of life.
Upon consultation with the new "Sheriff," Mack settles on universal gun "registration". Seriously? In a post-apocalyptic world where instantaneous death is lurking around every corner?
For all his bravado and supposed skills at reading body language, Mack, by his own admission, is batting a big, fat zero.
No, this series stretches the bounds of credulity and I'll leave it here. There are much more realistic options available for the reader of this genre.
This edition of the EMP crash series focuses on Mack and Anna's relationship as Mack deals with the struggles of trying to further establish the New Haven settlement, while dealing with the heavy emotional weight of the tragedy's that befall his wife. I enjoyed the perspective of being a leader in a time of peril, trying to overcome obstacles for the well being of everyone around you in this post EMP scenario.
Wonderful series, in a world gone mad, some people still know how to do the right thing. When it is a several book series, I usually one review for the entire lot. This has about everything you would expect if the world suddenly where plunged back over a hundred years into the past, technologically speaking. A must read for all prepper types out there, and maybe we should pay more attention, because these things could actually happen, it really isn't fiction at all, but perhaps a glimpse into a very scary future.
Very good read.
Okay still not giving up on story, but not what is was in earlier books...
